platinum unlocked is a a ROM hack that adds a bunch of QOL stuff to pokemon platinum! i'd suggest checking it out!.
Rules:
- Any Pokémon that faints must be released or boxed permanently. It is considered “dead” for the rest of the challenge.
- Only the first wild Pokémon encountered in a route or area can be caught. If the player fails to catch it (ie. it flees or faints), their opportunity to catch a Pokémon in that area is lost.
- The player must nickname all Pokémon they catch or obtain.
- Only using healing items found in overworld -- no buying any or reciving them from NPCs!
Clauses:
- Duplicate clause: If the first Pokémon in an area is one the player already owns, they may continue battling until they encounter one they do not own, and then attempt to catch it. This rule prevents a player from having multiples of the same Pokémon, especially early in the game when the selection of different Pokémon on the first few routes is limited.
- Shiny Clause: If the player encounters a shiny wild Pokémon, they may catch it, even if a wild Pokémon has already been encountered in that area. This does not count as the encounter for that area.

on route 201 i caught a starly i named anyon! unfortunatly.... i lost anyon to a lvl 3 bidoof while i was trying to level him up.... oops. on route 202 i caught coil! im very glad she has pickup! its been vary useful to get healing items while im leveling up all y pokemon. so far, she's gooten me a nugget, a great ball, a couple potions, and a full heal. on route 204 i caught tesla!
in jubilife city i battled both the trainers in the trainers school for some extra HP. coil & tesla were pretty easily able to take both of them out with no problem. the fight with Barry on route 203 scared me a little. i didnt want to switch boson in, because i was scared of loosing him. i ended up using tesla to take out starly and trying to whittle down turtwig as much as i could. he just kept spamming withdrawls... once tesla got low i switched into coil and managed to take turtwig out. i ended up encountering a starly and a shinx, which i couldnt catch. my third encounter was cubone, which i did! thats pretty much where i've stopped for right now.
